Headed to Midwest 2017

This year is my first for attending Midwest.  I’m very excited; it’s my first music conference since I started composing.  No doubt I’m going to learn a lot and spend a couple of days with some truly great musicians.

Looking through the attendee list, there were several names I recognized. Some are new friends, some are old friends who went on to careers in music, some are former clinicians I never thought I’d see again.

Looking forward to seeing the exhibit hall and meeting people from music schools.  We live at an incredible time for continuing education , and the convergence of music and technology opens up all kinds of opportunities to learn and collaborate.  By talking to music schools and meeting others, I hope I can find ways to take advantage of music education to enhance my composition skills.

Also, looking forward to hearing the Johns Creek High School Orchestra.  (One of our congregation members at  Lord of Life Luthernan will be playing cello!)

Nevertheless, this is going to be an exciting trip.  This journey in music composition continues to amaze me in the places I go and people I meet.
